Instar refers to the developmental stage of an insect between molts during the process of metamorphosis.
So while I don't think of you as an insect, I think it's a perfect name to describe what happens to humans too. Especially those in therapy. We shed old shells and we become. Metamorphosis happens. Pretty cool.

Sessions are 50-minutes and cost $225 per session.

I accept Aetna insurance and I am considered an out-of-network provider for all other insurance plans.
Clients are responsible for the full fee at time of service but may receive reimbursement directly from their insurance companies.
I am happy to provide forms for reimbursement or help with the process.
I accept payment via all major credit cards as well as most HSA cards and Venmo.

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours notice are subject to the full appointment fee. If we are able to reschedule in the same week, the fee is waived.

I am licensed in Connecticut and New York and have an Interim license in Vermont.

Yes, I have an office in Farmington, CT and can see you in person or hybrid as needed. For New York and Vermont, sessions are online only.

I strongly recommend weekly sessions. Research shows weekly therapy gives the best results. Weekly sessions also give us opportunity for building rapport and trust quickly to help you feel like you are making progress. Weekly sessions also keep you motivated and accountable.

I don't have a crystal ball to answer that. Research shows that consistent therapy for at least 20 sessions helps people see tangible change. If you have a complex history and multiple issues to address, therapy can take years. In my trauma-informed training the saying is: "slow is always faster" and I honor your pace and sense of agency in our work together.
