Meet Rebecca Cohen:
Your MFT Intern Therapist
My experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families facing loss, grief, and relational struggles. In addition, I have worked with adolescents struggling with various mental health concerns, individuals coping with addictions, and families involved in DCF.
I offer both in-person and telehealth therapy to provide flexible support that meets you where you are.
When I’m not in therapy sessions, you can find me doting on my dog, reading a good book, or trying out a new hike.
What I Can Offer You
Grief doesn’t just come from losing a loved one—it can also come from losing a relationship as you once knew it, mourning the future you thought you’d have, or feeling disconnected from those who matter most. Loss takes many forms, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I offer couple and family therapy, helping you process what’s happened while making space for resilience, connection, and new possibilities.
Whether you’re struggling to move forward, feeling distant from your partner, or wondering how to support your family through loss, therapy can help you rewrite your story in a way that honors both what was and what can be. In our work together, you’ll find a safe, compassionate space to explore your grief with your loved ones—not to erase it, but to understand it, integrate it, and discover the strength within you to move forward.
Healing doesn’t mean forgetting; it means learning how to carry your loss differently. Working with an intern means you have a therapist with up-to-date knowledge and access to supervision from other professionals.
You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s start this next chapter together. Please reach out today.
You made it here!
That tells me something important—you’re ready to take back the pen. Grief can make it feel like your story has been rewritten, turning love into loss and connection into distance. But this isn’t the final chapter. Whether you're navigating grief as a family or struggling to reconnect as a couple, we can explore the dominant narratives shaping your experience and make space for healing, resilience, and meaning. Your story is yours to tell. Let’s shape it into one that honors what was while making way for what’s next.
My Background
Grief reshapes our lives in ways we never expected. I understand the weight of loss—whether it’s the passing of a loved one, the loss of a relationship as you once knew it, or the quiet grief of unmet expectations.
My passion is helping couples and families navigate grief and loss by reclaiming their stories, strengthening connections, and finding a path forward.
As a marriage and family therapy intern, I specialize in grief counseling for families, couples therapy for loss, and narrative therapy for healing.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that your experiences don’t define you—how you make meaning from them does.
Together, we can explore the dominant narratives shaping your grief and uncover the resilience, love, and hope that still exist within your story.
I am working on my MS in marriage and family therapy, with an intended graduation of December 2025 from Capella University. After earning a BA in elementary education and working in the early childhood education field for a while, I learned that I thrive when working with families. My lifelong passion for reading and storytelling inspired my usage of the narrative model in therapy.
